We are dedicating our working lives to addressing educational inequality.

We are all teaching professionals with a combined 50+ years’ experience in the classroom. Frustrated that we could not change things from within the system we decided to initiate that change from without and to offer our skills, contacts and expertise to support schools’ capacity.

Christine Henwood

An Advanced Skills teacher with over 30 years’ experience, I have worked predominantly with post 16 learners with additional learning needs. My specialism is working with young people who are socially disadvantaged with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

I have managed a large multidisciplinary department in Further Education which was nominated for Association of Colleges Beacon Status and led the process to achieve Autism status for the college.

I have also managed and delivered Education courses to degree level and supported staff development training and professional development.

Having worked in education since 1997 much of my experience has been with young people who struggle with achievement. I have worked both as a secondary school teacher, a Vocational Subject SENCO and as a specialist teacher in FE with learners who have significant emotional and behavioural problems and various barriers to learning,

I have successfully managed meaningful and supportive business and community engagement opportunities and set up a Business Ambassador Scheme engaging local employers with education. Connecting vulnerable young people to the wider world with a view to improving their life chances is my passion.
